About these terms
These terms apply when you use hackysecurity.com and when you book training, lab access or other services from Hacky Security Private Limited, registered office Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India ("Hacky Security", "we", "us"). By using the site or booking with us you agree to them. Our Refund policy and Privacy notice form part of these terms.
Consulting engagements, managed services, product licences and custom software are governed by the separate written agreement or statement of work we sign with you. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the signed agreement wins.
Our training, and certification exams
- Every certification course we run is independent preparation training, taught from Hacky Security's own curriculum. Unless a course page says otherwise, we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or an authorised partner of the body that awards the certification.
- Certification names, codes and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe what a course prepares you for.
- The exam is the certification body's, not ours. An exam voucher is sold separately. Where you buy one through us, we buy it from the certification body on your behalf and pass the code to you; you book your own exam date, and the body's own rules — eligibility, retakes, validity, identity checks — apply.
- We teach to the body's published objectives, but we cannot guarantee that you will pass an exam, or that an exam will not change or retire. We tell you when we know of a change.
- On completing a course you receive a Hacky Security certificate of completion. It records that you attended our training. It is not a certification-body credential, and it can be checked on our verification page.
Bookings and payment
- A place on a batch is confirmed only when we have received payment, or a purchase order we have accepted, and sent you a confirmation.
- Prices on the website are shown in the currency for your country and are exclusive of taxes such as GST or VAT, which are added at invoice where they apply. The price on your confirmed invoice is the price you pay.
- Corporate and bulk pricing, and anything quoted to you directly, is valid for the period stated on the quote.
- We may move a batch date, change a trainer or switch a classroom batch to online live delivery for reasons outside our control. If we do, you can move to another batch or have a refund, as set out in the Refund policy.
Using our labs, ranges and free tools
This is a security training company, so this section matters.
- Our labs, cyber ranges, vendor labs, free labs and CTF are provided only for learning on the systems we give you.
- You must not use anything you learn or any tool we provide to access, scan, test or attack any system you do not own or do not have written permission to test. Doing so may be a crime under the Information Technology Act, 2000 in India, the Computer Misuse Act 1990 in the UK, and similar laws elsewhere.
- Do not attack the lab platform itself, other learners' environments, or our own infrastructure, and do not share your lab access.
- Lab environments are reset between groups. Do not store anything in them you want to keep.
- We may suspend access without refund if these rules are broken, and we may report serious misuse to the authorities.
Course materials and intellectual property
All course material — slides, lab guides, videos, recordings, assessments and syllabi — belongs to Hacky Security or is used under licence. You may use it for your own learning. You may not copy, resell, publish, record or share it, or use it to teach others, without our written permission. Your access to recordings and online material lasts for the period stated when you booked.
Your conduct
In classes, labs and on our portals, treat trainers and other learners with respect. We may remove anyone who is abusive or disruptive, or who shares exam content in breach of a certification body's rules, without refund.
Our website
We work to keep the information on this website accurate, but course outlines, prices, dates and exam details can change. Check the details on your quote or confirmation. Links to other websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise, our total liability to you for any training booking is limited to the amount you paid us for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit, opportunity or data. For consulting, managed services and products, the liability terms in your signed agreement apply.
If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights consumer law gives you — including under India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 — and nothing here takes them away.
Complaints
If something has gone wrong, email info@hackysecurity.com with your booking reference. We aim to respond within five working days and to resolve complaints within 30 days.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. If you are a consumer living in the UK or the UAE, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts and rely on the mandatory consumer protections of that country.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a booking is the one on this page when the booking was confirmed.
